The Fijian Elections Office will be receiving capacity development opportunities both locally and abroad following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance or International IDEA.
Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says the MOU also sets the platform for exchange of information and experience, opportunities for Fijian Elections Office staff to participate in knowledge exchange programs such as international forums and events as well as writing and publishing research papers and electoral matters.
The partnership will allow the Fijian Elections Office to bring opportunities from overseas into Fiji and the region to enhance the electoral services that the Fijian Elections Office is mandated to offer.
International IDEA has conducted extensive research and published papers on elections worldwide.
