FEA to open Nadarivatu Hydro

The Fiji Electricity Authority will take a major step towards renewable energy with the commissioning of its newest Hydro Dam in Nadarivatu.

Authority Chief Executive Hasmukh Patel says this will ensure reliable supply and also ease the burden FEA to purchase fuel.

He says last year importation of fuel cost one hundred and twenty seven million dollars.

He says the Nadarivatu Hydro dam will be opened on Friday by Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama.

It will add forty megawatts to FEA’s power capacity.
