A 21-year-old student is believed to have drowned in Savusavu yesterday afternoon.

According to Police, the incident occurred at the Devodara picnic spot, while the victim was swimming with his family.

Police say attempts made to revive him proved futile.

A post-mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death as the police investigation continues.
