National Federation Party candidate, Faizal Koya has denied the accusations made against him by FijiFirst General Secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

Speaking at a press conference in Lautoka, Koya says he has sworn statements from the public to prove that he never made any racist comments.

“ It is seemly sad and disappointing that ASK being the chief legal officer of this nation without verifying, consulting and thoroughly investigating these allegations has defamed me in public."

It’s alleged that Koya had told a group of people during a meeting that the Attorney General has many portfolios and questioned why Hindus and people who follow different beliefs were not getting portfolios in the government.

Faizal Koya says he wants a public apology from Sayed-Khaiyum.

Koya has also challenged the FijiFirst General Secretary to a public debate at either Lautoka or in Suva.
