Don't spoil the games: Police

April 26, 2012 7:29 pm

With the biggest sporting event in our school calendar about to begin, the Fiji Police Force is again advising the public to keep within the law.

Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says the carelessness of some usually leads to the games disrupted, and she says, officers will be out in numbers.

“Please don’t do anything that will cause harm or mar the games. Remember these students have worked tirelessly for the last few months to get to the event which starts in the next few hours. So we’re advising the public, especially supporters, old scholars, usually at this time tension is high because of school rivalry, but we’re just asking that we all think of these students who I’ve mentioned have worked tirelessly and that we all try and enjoy the true spirit of the Coca Cola Games.”

Naisoro is also advising against the flying of school flags from any vehicles.

“Remember the waving of flags is strictly prohibited, not only is it a serious threat or danger to you, but also to other road users.”

While encouraging everyone to have fun, Naisoro says they will not be lenient on anyone looking to stretch the arm of the law.
