Details of additional injuries possibly caused by Tropical Cyclone Winston are expected to emerge in the coming days.

Ten people have died as a result of TC Winston, and Acting Director National Disaster Management Office, Akapusi Tuifagalele says they are awaiting further updates from around Fiji.

He says depending on the restoration of communication lines with outer islands and even parts of Vanua Levu, DISMAC expects to get a clearer picture on the true impact of the cyclone in days ahead.

Seventeen homes in Yanuca village has been completely damaged and 69 people are taking shelter in an evacuation centre.

Four teachers quarters have also been destroyed.

Sketchy reports from Ovalau also indicate that many homes have been destroyed while others have had the roof blown away.

There are still no communication links to Vanuabalavu, Cicia, Tuvuca Yasayasa and Moala in the Lau Group.
