The sugar cane industry has done well during the 2016 crushing season that ended last Friday.
The Sugar Cane Growers Council says Labasa sugar mill produced 73,000 tonnes of sugar which was the most compared to the other mills.
Council CEO Sundresh Chetty says that the Lautoka mill managed to produce just little over 39,000 tonnes of sugar.
However for the Rarawai sugar mill the sugar production was around 27,000 tonnes.
Despite the effects of Cyclone Winston early this year the total cane crop stood at 1.3 million tonnes.
