A 27-year-old farmer is currently in custody for allegedly being in possession of illicit drugs believed to be marijuana.

Police say the Southern Division Drugs Team following a tip off led to the raid of a house belongs to the farmer at Sukanaivalu Road in Delainabua and in the process found a bag containing 20 parcels of dried leaves believed to be marijuana and another bag with cash more than $5000.

The suspect is in custody awaiting drug analysis report.
