Trio fronts court for alleged Namaka robbery

Three men who are alleged to have been involved in a robbery outside the ANZ Namaka branch appeared at the Nadi Magistrates Court today.

36-year-old Sunit Ram, 20-year-old, Anusheel Chand and 25-year-old Dveneel Ram are all charged with 1 count of aggravated robbery.

The incident happened over the weekend when a woman in her 60s who is employed by Yees Cold Storage was robbed outside the ANZ Bank Namaka branch.

More than $80,000 in cash and cheques which were stolen have also been recovered by Police.

The case has been transferred to the Lautoka High Court for the 6th of next month.

Bail was also denied for the three men.

Meanwhile, yesterday the driver of the vehicle Akshay Raju who is also allegedly involved in the robbery appeared in court.

He was also denied bail.
