Trial dates set for pastor who allegedly raped church members

The court was today told that Waisake Tulavu now has a new lawyer after revelations in July that his former counsel was practicing without a license.

Trial dates have been set for a 46-year-old pastor charged with four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

The two-week trial will begin on 2nd March next year.

State prosecutors will be calling ten witnesses with three complainants taking the stand.

Two police officers, two eye-witnesses and a reverend from Tulavu’s church will also give evidence.

It is alleged that Tulavu raped three church members aged 22, 29 and 32 in Nasinu last year.

The accused has been further remanded.
