Veramu Navuso

An application has been made for a man who allegedly assaulted a police officer to be detained at the Saint Giles Hospital.

36-year-old Veramu Navuso is charged with one count of act to cause grievous bodily harm.

He allegedly entered the Nakasi Police Station and stabbed a police officer on the back of his head and his back with a knife in June this year.

The defense lawyer today made an application for his client to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Both parties have been given time until Monday to file proper procedures.

The matter will be recalled on Monday.
