Former FNPF employee granted bail

A former employee of the Fiji National Provident Fund who is facing fraud charges has been granted bail by the Suva Magistrates Court this morning.

Jack Edward Hiramatsu was released on a $5, 000 bail bond and $1000 cash bail with strict conditions.

The court has issued a stop departure order against Hiramatsu and his two sureties.

The trio will have to surrender their travel documents.

Hiramatsu has to report at the Lami Police Station every Monday and Friday and a curfew has been imposed from 4pm to 6am daily.

The accused and seven others allegedly defrauded the Fiji National Provident Fund of over $49,000.

The case will be recalled on the 30th of this month.
