Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khayium commissioned the opening of the Coral Coast Carnival in Sigatoka last night.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Sayed-Khaiyum says such platforms is important as it brings the community together and unites Fijians.

With the theme ‘Let’s harvest wellness spiritually, physically and mentally’, the carnival aims to bring more attention to people’s wellbeing.

“It’s also about the individual, your physical wellbeing, your mental and spiritual wellbeing and hopefully with the theme this year being focused in that area, we’ll have the contestants talking more about it and people will get a lot more attention regarding that particular aspect of our daily life.”

The Coral Coast carnival was opened last night and will end next Saturday.
