Consultations for Young Women Age Definition

July 11, 2016 12:19 am

It’s an opportunity for young Fijian women to voice their unique concerns and opinions.

The Fiji Women’s Rights Movement will hold a series of face to face nationwide consultations this month with diverse young women to define their age bracket.
Fiji Women’s Rights Movement Executive Director Tara Chetty says the FWRM works with women from various diverse backgrounds and there are varying definitions of youth.

Chetty says this consultation is an opportunity for young women to weigh into the discussions because they have unique knowledge and perspectives on critical issues they face.

The information gathered from this exercise will assist the organisation in further strengthening its advocacy programmes targeting young women.
Consultations will be held in the west from the 12th to the 14th of July and in the north on the 15th to the 17th of July.

This is also been accompanied by an online survey to encourage wider contribution by young women.
