Circuit fault causes unplanned outage

The Fiji Electricity Authority says an underground Transmission Circuit Fault caused unplanned outage yesterday affecting power supply to parts of the Central & Western Divisions.

The FEA says the circuit between FEA’s Hibiscus Park Zone Substation and Wailekutu Zone Substation in Lami triggered a series of events causing an unplanned outage to customers in parts of Pacific Harbour, Navua, Lami, Suva and Nasinu.

The fault also affected customers in parts of Nadi, Lautoka & Ba as the power system in Viti Levu is interconnected.

The FEA teams were able to restore supply to all affected customers in the Western Division by 2:51pm.

Power supply to majority of the customers in the Central Division was gradually restored by 4:30pm.

Supply to other parts were restored by late afternoon.
