Acting Prime Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the Australian Foreign Affairs Minister must have confused Fiji with Burma when he asked the question of whether there will be any reserved seats in parliament for military.

He says this clearly shows that these countries are unaware of the reality in Fiji.

Sayed-Khaiyum says this is why it is important that mission groups such as Ministerial Contact Group meet a wider group of people to ascertain the reality.

“It demonstrated reliance by some of these countries on conjecture, on rumour, on blogs on listening one or two people who in fact propagate this sort of misinformation about Fiji for their own personal agenda.”
