There is sufficient disposable e-transport cards however the onus is on bus operators to collect it from Vodafone outlets.
Vodafone E-Commerce and Corporate Affairs Shailendra Prasad says they have disposable cards in stock and is urging bus operators to collect it to avoid running out during daily operations.
He adds the disposable cards need to be activated in order to be used.
“We’re urging bus drivers, if they haven’t collected it to give an option to those that may not have registered please come and collect it from us. We have also received feedbacks that some passengers when they try to use it on the bus the cards are not activated.”
Prasad adds the cards must be activated on a button that is on the drivers console and only then can it be used in buses.
Bus operators have been urged to train their drivers or inform them that disposable cards only work when it’s activated by the driver.
