“We were selected after their international selection process we were shortlisted and then following a number of submissions and interviews our group was accorded the exclusive franchise for Burger King in Fiji.”

Burger King was founded in 1954 by James McLamore and David Edgerton in Miami, Florida.

As the name suggests, the franchise specializes in burgers – almost any kind imaginable.

The Motibhai Group in Fiji, is an investment giant with many businesses to its name – be it media, grocery stores, or properties.

Patel says over time time Burger King will branch out from Nadi.

“We have been looking at a number of sites all over Fiji. We will be starting in Nadi and we are looking at some other properties where we can set up a drive through.”"

While Motibhai doesn’t disclose how much has been spent on this new venture, he does say that it will all depend on how successful the business turns out to be.
