The Fijian economy today is the biggest and best it has ever been, with nine consecutive years of growth says Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

Bainimarama says this has enabled government to deliver on many new developments across the country and deliver on promises made to the Fijian people.

Today, the Prime Minister delivered on a commitment made to the people of Vuya for the provision of two new classrooms to cater for the increasing student roll at Vuya District School in Nabouwalu, Bua.

Opening the new classrooms, Bainimarama urged the school management to make use of the new facilities to increase academic performance.

Bainimarama also handed over 60 new desks and chairs for the new classrooms.

He also officially opened this morning two high standard teachers’ quarters to replace the previous ones destroyed during TC Winston in 2016.

The project, funded by the PM’s office, also saw the renovation of all classrooms in the school.

The total cost of the new classrooms, new quarters, the renovations and the new desks and chairs amounts to almost $400,000.
