Bhatnagar talks about the importance of culture celebration

The Assistant Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Veena Bhatnagar has applauded the Nakasi Mothers Club for playing a significant role in keeping the Indian culture alive in the form of folk singing which has its own richness in diversity and history.

Bhatnagar says it’s important to promote women’s economic empowerment because without it, half our population is left behind in terms of empowerment and development.

Nakasi Sanatan Mother’s Club Chair Venus Prasad says they have 17 members and the clubs has been running for the past 20years and that their fundraiser was to assist the club visiting senior citizens home, children’s home and purchasing of school stationeries for the needy children.

She reminded the women’s group of the critical role women play in any development be it institutional, in the community or at the national level.
