Better reporting of parliament long term goal; FMA

January 26, 2019 7:17 am

The FMA continues to encourage deliberations between the Parliament secretariat, members of Parliament and mainstream media.

FMA’s General Secretary Stanley Simpson says with an open and honest exchange, media coverage can only be improved to ensure the Fijian public are getting the full story when it comes to parliamentary proceedings.

“So we’ve had exchange of views of how we are covering it, why we report it the way that we do it and what we would want from the MPs in order help our work both from the government and opposition. Because ultimately what we want to do is get the discussions and the debate that are taking place within parliament as accurately and as objectively as possible to the people.”
