The Prime Minister has thanked the Austrian President for their contribution to Pacific Small Island Developing States partnership projects.

This is being supported through funding from the Austrian government and its partners.

The projects within the Pacific region support climate change mitigation, renewable energy and efforts towards conservation and the management of natural resources.
The Austrian President has been a strong advocate for climate action for many years.

An invitation to attend the R20 Austrian World Summit in May, was extended to Fiji’s Prime Minister.

The Summit provides increased opportunities to foster partnerships and exchange experiences.

It will also generate momentum for the 2019 Climate Summit which takes place in New York in September.
