Australia PM Scott Morrison and Senator Fraser Anning
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has called an Australian senator’s comments on the Christchurch mosque shootings “disgusting”.
Senator Fraser Anning released a statement that blamed New Zealand’s immigration policy for yesterday’s terror attacks that have left 49 people dead so far.
New Zealand, like Australia, is home to people from all faiths, cultures and backgrounds. There is absolutely no place in either of our countries for the hatred and intolerance that has bred this extremist, terrorist violence and we condemn it.

Senator Anning says he opposes any form of violence within the community and totally condemns the actions of the gunman.
Does anyone still dispute the link between Muslim immigration and violence?

He, however, says while this kind of violent vigilantism can never be justified, what it highlights is the growing fear within Australia and New Zealand, of the increasing Muslim presence.
Out of respect and in condolence for all those killed in the terrorist attack in New Zealand, I have asked for flags to be flown at half-mast. pic.twitter.com/0qgIrmdgoH

Anning says left-wing politicians and the media will rush to claim that the causes of today’s shootings lie with gun laws or those who hold nationalist views but this is all clichéd nonsense.
The senator in his statement says the real cause of bloodshed on New Zealand streets is the immigration program which allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison responded via Twitter.
The remarks by Senator Fraser Anning blaming the murderous attacks by a violent, right-wing, extremist terrorist in New Zealand on immigration are disgusting. Those views have no place in Australia, let alone the Australian Parliament.

…I also pay tribute to the emergency services and volunteers who are providing support to those who have been injured.
At this tragic time, my thoughts and prayers are with all New Zealanders.

Australians stand with all New Zealanders today during this dark time where hate and violence has stolen their peace and innocence. Kia kaha (stay strong).

The Queen has sent the following message to the people of New Zealand.
I have been deeply saddened by the appalling events in Christchurch today. Prince Philip and I send our condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their lives…(1/2)
