Australia has invested over $1.4 billion dollars in Fiji between 2010 and 2016.
This was highlighted by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama during Australia Fiji Business Forum in Sydney.
Bainimarama says a total of 336 Australian projects were registered in Fiji since 2010 and it is estimated that these projects have created nearly 1500 jobs across Fiji’s economy in various sectors.
He also says savvy Australian business people are now realizing that Fiji is more than just a place to enjoy paradise, it is a place where they can build their next big business.
Meanwhile, Australian Assistant Minister for Trade and Investment, Keith Pitt says there are over 3,000 Australian businesses exporting to Fiji.
He also adds that around 350,000 Australians visited Fiji last year.
Pitt says Fijian investment in Australia is valued at $502 million which is impressive for a country of Fiji’s size.
