The Republic of Fiji Military Forces have cancelled all its functions for this weekend.

This was confirmed to FBC News by the Chief of Staff Lieutenant Colonel Litea Seruiratu.

Seruiratu says a platoon is already on standby for any emergency situation and this is likely to expand throughout the weekend.

“And by tomorrow we are going to increase the standby platoon to a company and we have also called on those to be on standby in Labasa, Lautoka and Nadi and those that are employed all over the country.”

Seruiratu says they are also receiving update from officers based in other parts of the country.
