Agriculture Minister at COP21

Agriculture Minister Inia Seruiratu will attend the launch of the “Because the Ocean” event in Paris, France today.

The high level event is taking place on the eve of the Paris global climate conference.

Seruiratu will participate in a Round Table discussion and also deliver Fiji’s National Statement, which will be concluded with the signing of a declaration underlying the critical importance of the ocean in addressing the root causes of climate change.

Fiji has been invited to participate at this event in recognition of its active role on the global stage in promoting the sustainable management of the ocean and its resources.

Seruiratu will be accompanied by Minister for Fisheries and Forests Osea Naiqamu and other senior government officials.
