Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum yesterday met with the European Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development Neven Mimica, to discuss strategies for the implementation of projects to be funded through the European Development Fund (EDF).
The European Union through the 11th EDF National Indicative Programme (NIP), has allocated EUR28 million (FJD65 million) for the period 2014 – 2020.
The Fijian Government has identified ’’Sustainable Rural Livelihoods" and “Public Administration Reform and Governance” as the two primary focal sectors for support under the NIP allocation.
In extending his appreciation for the assistance provided, the Attorney-General said this latest development will enable the Government to further empower and improve the living standards of Fijians.
