The Accident Compensation Commission has received more than forty applications from individuals seeking compensation for personal injuries sustained during motor vehicle accidents.
The Commission has to date assisted three families and paid out two hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars in compensation.
Accident Compensation Commission chief executive, Parvez Akbar says the compensation pay out process takes time.
“We have for personal injuries there is 47 applications, these are all being processed and what happens is that the time it takes to process it depends on the impairment assessment of the injuries.”
Akbar says they have also received six applications for compensation for deaths resulting from motor vehicle accidents, out of which three has been paid out.
