74 schools participate in essay competition

More than 74 schools participated in an essay competition organised by the New Zealand High Commission.

Head of Mission Phillip Taula says New Zealand and Fiji have a long history of friendship therefore Education linkages are a vital part of this relationship.

Taula commended the hard work put in by the students in this year’s competition.

He says the Commission is overwhelmed with the support shown from the various schools.

Edwin Saladoka of Saint Johns College and Devnal Singh of Nadroga Arya College were the overall winners of this competition.

“What my school culture can offer Fiji” and “Cultural links between New Zealand and Fiji” were the two topics for this years competition.
