Seventy percent of married women in the country face physical abuse.

This was revealed by Minister for Women Mereseini Vuniwaqa while officiating at the Kalabu Bula Raraba Outreach.

Vuniwaqa says it’s important for her to preach about love when she visits iTaukei communities as women face a lot of abuse in their household.

She says people need to look out for each other and not let race, religion and faith be a barrier.

Vuniwaqa adds it doesn’t matter if people have countless degrees, if there is no love, its pointless serving Fijians across the country.

The Minister mentions that love for parents is growing cold as they are more and more elderly people being put into aged care homes which are funded by the government.
