Police Commissioner Major General Ben Groenewald says they are investigating seven assault cases allegedly reported against police officers.

Groenewald says the file will be given to the Director of Public Prosecutions Office once the investigation is completed.

‘’I do not see the complaints that we received as a general issue in the country. It seems to me that this is mainly part of the direct investigation concept that is going on and it might be that there was ill-treatment’’.

The Police Commissioner is touring the northern division as part of his quarterly visit.
