A sixty-nine-year-old man defied the odds to walk three miles to cast his vote in the village of Nalidi in Nakorotubu in Ra.
Living in a settlement far from the Nalidi Polling station, Filimoni Vosaduadua made the three hour journey to be one of the more than 60,000 Fijians that will vote in the weeklong Pre-Polling period.
Having to wake up early in the morning and try to make his vote count, Vosaduadua was a happy man after casting his vote at the Nalidi Polling station.
Despite the distance, Vosaduadua made sure that he was at the launch of Pre-Polling with the Fijian Elections Office to witness the process first hand.
Nalidi village is one of the first rural communities involved in pre-poll voting for 2018, and when FBC News arrived at the village, people were eager to make their votes count.
