63% of students who sat for the Fiji Year 13 Examination this year have passed.

The Education Ministry says the result is quite pleasing compared to last year where the pass rate was at a lower 53%.

Education Minister Dr Mahendra Reddy says this is a good sign that students performances are improving following the reforms.

The provisional results for Year 13 will be released to schools this afternoon and will be available to students from 8am tomorrow.

A total of 7,339 students sat for the examination this year.
