Thirty Fijians have received the Australia Awards Pacific Scholarship to study in Fiji.

The 30 include three females who will be studying in traditionally male-dominated fields including automotive, mechanical engineering and quantity surveying.

Australian High Commissioner to Fiji, John Feakes says they are committed to supporting Fiji’s efforts to promote prosperity, reduce poverty and enhance political stability.

Feakes says for the third consecutive year, 12 nurses will be studying midwifery.

Other fields include Early Childhood Education and Care, Building, and Electrical Engineering.
