October 10, 2017 5:37 pm

Twenty-one seasonal workers have been chosen from Ovalau in Lomaiviti to work in New Zealand.

Minister for Employment and Productivity, Jone Usamate highlighted this during a public consultation forum at the Lomaiviti provincial office.

Usamate says two employers from New Zealand travelled to the island and hand-picked the workers from their villagers.

He is also optimistic that these workers will represent Fiji well and show their employers that they can do a better job.

To date more than 800 workers from Fiji have been employed under the seasonal workers scheme but Usamate is urging young Fijians to be physically and mentally prepared to represent our country as seasonal workers in the future.
