Two Fijian peacekeepers serving under the Multinational Force and Observers Group have been injured and are in hospital following a roadside explosion in Northeast Sinai.

Land force Commander Colonel Sitiveni Qiliho has confirmed the men were injured after encountering improvised explosive devices.

Qiliho adds they are currently hospitalized but are in stable condition.

He says the RFMF is in the process of informing their next of kin.
