A 19-year- old man who pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated robbery and one count of theft has been sentenced to two years imprisonment by the Labasa High court.

The court heard that on the twentieth of March this year, Petero Ratucove entered a house and stole assorted items valued at more than seven hundred and ninety dollars.

Ratucove pleaded guilty to the charges.

The High court Judge said that burglars invade the space of others freedom in order to steal from them and the offence of burglary is one of the dangerous forms of property crimes as the offender can create fear and insecurity among the people.

The High Court considered the three months spent by Ratucove in remand.

Ratucove will now serve 21 months behind bars.
