124 new recruits for the RFMF

A total of 124 new recruits have been commissioned following a pass out parade at the military school in Nasinu yesterday.

The new recruits went through an intensive military training lasting three months.

Officiates at the Basic Recruit Pass out Parade, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama urged the new recruits to believe in themselves for the security of their family, the society and the nation as a whole.

Bainimarama says these recruits joined the military school with no knowledge of what the military is all about. Now, he adds these recruits can stand firm on their feet equipped with military knowledge.

The recruits have also taken field engineering training, a new course introduced by the Fiji military aimed to equip soldiers to carry out rehabilitation works following a natural disaster.

Awards were presented for Best all-rounder recruit- Private Jijiwa Tawake,
Best Rifle Shot recruit- Private Avikash Kumar and Best Machine Shot recruit Private Waisale Naka.
