103 teenage pregnancies from Jan-Sept

One hundred and three teenage pregnancy cases were recorded by the Department of Social Welfare through the National Child Welfare Register, from January to September this year.

The youngest mother is 14 years old whilst the eldest is 18 years old.

This is combined data from the Ministry of Health, Police and the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation.

There are currently three pregnant teenage mothers living in homes in Nadi who are receiving counseling and support.
