The Coral Coast Carnival committee in Sigatoka aims to raise $15,000 when the events draw its curtain this Saturday.

Carnival Chair, Shalendra Kumar says the new committee members were elected this year to spearhead the weeklong event.

Kumar says funds raised from the carnival will be used to upgrade earmarked facilities in Sigatoka.

“This year with the carnival we are aiming to upgrade the Koromumu cemetery and also one of the wards in Sigatoka district hospital.”

He highlights that five contestants in the Queen category are participating this year.

This year’s carnival theme is “Let’s Harvest Wellness Spiritually, Mentally and Physically”.

The carnival ends on Saturday.
