174 completion certificates of construction work around the country were issued in the 2018 September quarter.
The Fiji Bureau of Statistics reveals that this was valued at $61.6 million.
When compared to the 2017 September quarter this is an increased by 14.5%.
The Central and Eastern divisions have recorded the highest construction activity for the 2018 September quarter.
Statistics reveal that two divisions accounted for 70.8% of the 439 building permits issued for construction work.
This is followed by the Western Division which accounted for 25.9% and then the Northern Division at 3.3%.
The total permits were valued at $102.3 million.
When compared to the June quarter the number of building permits issued declined by 0.5%.
Whereas a comparison to the September 2017 quarter shows an increase of 6.6%.
Deputy Government Statistician, Kemueli Naiqama says these statistics were compiled through data supplied by the City and Town Councils along with the Rural Local Authorities.
