The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee has appointed Tomasi Tiko as the Chef de Mission to the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Argentina in October.
Tiko from touch rugby background also served as Chef de Mission for Team Fiji to the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas.
Tiko says it’s a great privilege for him leading the national team to an international event for the second time.
“For me, it’s an honour to be selected by FASANOC to lead the Youth team to the Youth Olympics. It’s a great honour serving the youth as well as serving the country and athletes as well.”
The Youth Olympic Games will be held from the 6th to the 18th of October in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Team Fiji won a bronze medal at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games after beating Kenya in rugby 7s while Lepani Naivalu featured in an Oceania 4×100m relay team that also won a bronze medal in 2010.
