Fiji Women’s 7s team

Major changes are to be expected in the Fiji Women’s 7s team in the next series of the HSBC Women’s 7s series.

Coach Saiyasi Fuli says he has rested many senior players and young ones have been brought into the team.

The Fijiana consistently finished fourth in many tournaments of the recent series and this has spark concern for Fiji Rugby.

“The girls really need to pull up because that is what I inherited when I took over the job, the girls that were in the squad and their condition and look after the girls, they need to work hard especially the core skills and the strengthening condition will be managed by Eroni and Naca.”

Fuli joined the team mid-way into the recent series and helped the team maintain its core to the next series after escaping near relegation.

The main focus, for now, is to defend its title next month in the Pacific Games and winning the Oceania 7s for a place in the Olympics next year.
