The Fijiana 15s are just one step away from creating history.

This is after the Fijiana defeated Samoa Manu Sina 26-7 at Churchill Park in Lautoka this afternoon in the Oceania Women’s Rugby Championship match.

The win means the Fijiana is one game away from qualifying directly to the 2021 Rugby World Cup.

Fijiana captain Sereima Leweniqila says Samoa will definitely come back a different team next Saturday.

‘We’ll just take the win today we’ll expect them to fight back on Saturday it’s getting back to training on Monday still one game to go can’t predict anything yet’.

The Fijiana will play Samoa again next Saturday for a place in the next world cup as Tonga has withdrawn from the tournament.

Samoa is the second highest ranking Rugby World Cup non-qualified team after they thrashed Papua New Guinea earlier this week.

The Oceania tournament serves as a 2021 Rugby World Cup Qualifiers where the winner wins a direct qualification and the runners up a qualification spot in the repechage tournament.

The non-qualified teams in the Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship are Fiji, Samoa, Papua New Guinea and Tonga.
