Order of Committal issued against Timoci Naleba

An order of committal has been issued against the former Operations Manager of Fiji Sports Council Timoci Naleba.

The Fiji Sports Council has taken Naleba to court over non- payment around $4, 000.

The matter was called in the High court this afternoon and Naleba was not present.

The court had ordered Naleba in May this year to pay $300 per month effective from 1st August and in default six weeks imprisonment for each default.

However, Fiji Sports Council lawyer Damodaran Nair informed the court that Naleba has not made any payments.

The court had also ordered that Nair informed the court that the order was not complied with.

High court Judge issued an order of committal and for Fiji Sports Council lawyer Damodaran Nair to be informed when Naleba is arrested.

The matter has been adjourned to 26th September.
