Only 16 teams for Coral Coast 7's

August 17, 2015 6:10 pm

Organizers of the Bayleys Coral Coast 7s have decided to reduce the number of men’s teams that will compete in the tournament next year from 24 to 16 teams.

Tournament official, Nick Jordon says the changes were made to lift the level of competition to greater heights.

“This is going to create a whole new level of competiveness; first to get there and then to get through to the final. At the same we are raising the number of women’s teams due to the interest in the women’s game getting stronger and stronger. This is ofcourse with the Rio Olympics on the horizon and the Telecom Fijiana on the verge of qualifying, so let’s hope they can do that.”
