Fiji Pearls veteran Alesi Waqa-Paul

Fiji Pearls veteran Alesi Waqa-Paul is looking at taking up coaching once she retires from the sport.

Waqa-Paul who sustained a major injury in 2018 during the Commonwealth Games plans on making a comeback as she prepares to once again represent Fiji in the 2023 Netball World Cup.

Waqa-Paul says since age is catching up on, she will looking at an option of coaching young children, specifically as primary schools levels.

“I am planning to retire after the next world cup from international level but not locally. Yes I am getting old, but as long as leg take me I can still play. And I am also looking at an option of being a coach.”

A police officer by profession and mother of two, the 35-year old says with the support from her family she was able to accomplish her dreams.
