Moce claim LICI Easter cricket title

Moce are the new champions of the LICI Easter Cricket Championships and Compton Cup holders after upsetting the Suva Warriors by 14 runs at Albert Park in Suva.

The islanders batted first to finish off with 147 runs to keep the defending champions at bay who finished off with 133 runs for the loss of seven wickets.

Suva’s Sakaraia Lomani, Kiti Tavo and Jo Dabea tried their best to play catch up but brilliant Moce field work proved the pivotal role.

Outstanding player for Moce was Inoke Cama who stood out with great catches, one of which put Suva batsman, Kiti Tavo out.

Moce also walked away with $1,000 in prizemoney.

Lakeba beat Komo prior to the final with 85 runs for the loss of 7 wickets as Komo were all out for 50 runs in the 15th over.
