More than three hundred youths of Lami took part in the two-day volleyball tournament hosted by Lami youths network.
Lami youth media officer Filipe Vakaloloma says the initiative is to help the youths empower good neighborhood.
“The whole purpose of this is to promote safer neighborhood with our youths this association started last December, the purpose is to target our youths only here in Lami we not only have this tournament but there’s a lot of tournament coming up.”
The Volleyball tournament was funded by the Fiji Sports Commission, CEO Peter Mazey says that the government fully supports communities program.
“Community youths development is .. Government gave some substantial funding for community’s sports programs and … so we’ve organizing training and this program today results what we call a training program.”
The tournament will end tomorrow at the Suvavou grounds.
