Former Manchester United and France football player Mikael Silvestre received a tradition welcome upon jetting into the country this afternoon.

Silvestre has won five English Premier League title and represented the French side at the World Cup in 2002 and 2006.

The former defender says he excited to be in Fiji.

“Being invited to many places in the World but this is the first time I have been invited to Fiji so it is something I couldn’t refuse and I feel honoured to be here with you guys.”

Silvestre will be on the guest speaker at the Fiji Football Associations Awards night which will be held on Saturday at Sofitel Resort in Nadi.
